Glitter Balloons

We made some glitter filled balloons this morning for New Year's Eve and Hudson had fun shaking them around. I made him play with them outside just in case they popped...

 All you need is:
  • Balloons
  • Glitter
  • Funnel
  • Sharpie (if you want to write on the balloons)
Place the funnel inside of the balloon after you write on them.

Pour the glitter into the balloon and blow it up. Just make sure you don't breath in while doing this...or you'll get a mouthful of glitter...I'm not speaking from experience or anything. ;)

    1. I have never tried it with helium, but I don't see why not... May just be a little tricky keeping the glitter in while blowing the balloons up. Maybe try it outside ;)

  5. A wise addition to this fantastic idea, is to be sure the balloons do NOT pop inside the house.

  7. You can definitely use helium with the glitter balloons. Just be sure to not inflate the balloon to it's full size as heat will make the latex expand and the balloons will pop.

I used to work for a balloon company and glitter balloons were one of the ones we made :)

  10. Make sure you get chunky glitter, fine glitter doesn't work so well.

  15. If you were willing to deal with the cleanup, this would be really fun for new years to all pop them at midnight (outside??) and maybe confetti instead of glitter. Thanks!

  19. Color glitter in clear balloons would be cool. Doing a small colored balloon inside a larger clear with colored glitter would be nice too. Thanks for a great idea!!

    1. What do u mean glue??? I don't think you understand the project.

    2. The glue will help the glitter stick to the inside of the balloons and make them sparkle more!!! Also if they pop it is less of a mess
