Lemon Sugar Scrub

This lemon sugar scrub is really easy to make, leaves your hands feeling really soft, and makes a great gift. It would make a great Mother's Day gift. The recipe below fills two 12 ounce mason jars, and I had some leftover to fill a wide mouth 8 ounce mason jar.

  

All you need is three simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand. 5 cups of sugar, 1 3/4 cups of olive oil, and the juice of two large lemons (about 8 tablespoons). 

 

Pour all three ingredients into a large mixing bowl.

 Mix until it looks something like this. Then spoon into your mason jars or another container that has a tight fitting lid.

 I created labels for the sugar scrub using 2" and 1.5" craft punches, scrapbook paper, card stock, yarn, double stick tape, and a hole punch. I found the original recipe for this lemon sugar scrub on Tip Junkie by Stephanie Lynn and you can find lots of other cute gifts in a jar here.

Cake in a Jar

I've been making cakes for the last couple years, however I never knew that you could bake a cake in a jar! I LOVE this idea! Mason Jars

Lots of mason jars to put to use after Carley and Matt's wedding. I started putting them to use last night to hold some lemonade. I garnished the drinks with lemon slices and mint leaves. A simple summer drink, but the jars and straws make it more fun! Planning to add some wire to others to hang in the trees out back with candles.

I recently bought 150 mason jars for my Sister-in-laws wedding. I love the look of the old fashioned mason jars, and think it is so fun to look at all of the creative ways you can now use them! For the wedding we are going to be using them as lanterns hanging in the trees, to create a lit pathway using candles, and hanging on the chairs going down the ceremony isle with fresh flowers. We found the mason jars at Costco in packs of 12. They come in two different sizes, costing about $7 to $8 per 12 jars.
